BCES Historical Peak Information

The information contained below will assist customers with predicting our system peaks. By customers reducing load during this window or approximate hour they may reduce their coincident peak charges.

The CP or coincident peak charge is a customer's individual contribution to the overall monthly system demand at Benton County Electric. 

TVA bills BCES a Max Demand and Max Demand during the On-Peak Period. The power billing customers pay their share of their contribution during the hour in which we peak. Indicated on the bill as CP Max Demand and CP Max Demand OPP (On-Peak Period) for General Power Service Class 2 and 3 customers.

Residential and General Power Service Class 1 customer do pay for their contribution as well but it is distributed at a class level based on data analyzed for load characteristics in the class.

        • The range is provided below but notice the chart and temperatures.
        • TVA Bills BCES during the one hour of highest energy consumed in any 60-minute consecutive period for two demand factors
          • Max System Demand Set anytime throughout the calendar billing month.
          • Max System Demand Set during the On-Peak Period throughout the calendar billing month.
        • Approximate Peak and On-Peak Windows for BCEs are as follows:
          • Winter 6AM-8AM CST
          • Summer 4PM-6PM CST
          • During the transition period our peak could be set in either window
            • There is a transition period in energy(kWh); however, NOT in demand
            • Peak Possible 6AM-8AM or 4PM-6PM
            • Transition months are typically October/November and April/May
