Demand Charge(kW)

Demand is a very important item to engineering our distribution system.

Demand defines the capacity of a customer's service. BCES  must be able to deliver the draw of energy at any given moment of time.  The customer's service, distrubtion lines, and tranmission lines must be sized accordingly to meet demands set by our rate payers.

These distribution assets must be in place whether the customer turns on a small light bulb or turns on a large motor. This ensures reliable stable power to our customers by having the assets in place to deliver on our promise to the rate payers of Benton County, TN.

Demand is the average value of power or related quantity over a specified interval of time, for BCES customers that is  sixty minutes. Demand is expressed in  kW.
