GENERLINK

GenerLink™ eliminates those hazardous conditions by providing a safe connection from the electric meter directly to the generator. GenerLink™ also detects when a generator is operating and automatically disconnects from the utility grid, eliminating dangerous backfeeding.

GENERLINK DEVICES

Many Benton County Electric System customers use portable electric generators to power their homes during electrical outages. While generators are a convenience, if used improperly, they can create hazardous conditions for both homeowners and electric utility crews working in the area.

GenerLink™ eliminates these hazards by providing a safe connection from the electric meter directly to the generator. It also detects when a generator is operating and automatically disconnects from the utility grid, preventing dangerous back feeding.

GenerLink™ devices can be purchase through Global Power Products Smart Metering Solutions | NE Meter - Simplifying Energy Management or by contacting 800-886-3837 ext. 113. Once customers have ordered, they can contact BCES, and we will set up a time to install. A member of the BCES metering department will have to install the device.

While most homes can use GenerLink™, it is only available for services of 200 amps or lower. If you currently use Benton County Electric System’s surge protection equipment, the GenerLink™, which comes equipped with HomeGuard surge protection, will replace the existing surge device. A detailed instruction manual is included, explaining the features and safe operation of the device.

GenerLink transfer switches work with portable generators from manufactures like FIRMAN, DuroMax, Generac, Champion, and many more. For more information on selecting the right generator for your application, check out the Compatibility Guide.
